School-year graduates are invited to apply for a paid summer internship focused on food entrepreneurship, culinary arts, and connecting with the Detroit food community.

After successfully premiering their food business during the school year, students have the opportunity to launch, operate, and refine their business at Detroit farmers’ markets.  As a piece of their summer journey, young eladers explore the local food system from farm to plate through hands-on learning, visting farmers, chefs, wholesalers, and natural resource managers across the region.  Students also spend one day per week inside the operation of their local food business mentor.  Youth craft their own lunches and snacks from scratch each day and enjoy skillshops led by local chefs and community leaders to refine their abilities.
